Agarita Hills Ranch
Cultivating the Resilient Future of the Texas Hill Country
We provide the ecological foundation for thriving Texas landscapes by cultivating resilient Texas native plants designed to survive the elements without irrigation and thrive for generations.
Hyper-Local Genetics
Plants grown from seeds and cuttings foraged from the most vigorous, wild growing mature plants within 5 miles of our ranch. Many are grown from plants growing wild on our own ranch.
Deep Root Cultivation
Specialized deep vertical-root containers to ensure rapid establishment in our rocky, non-irrigated soil.
Field-Hardened Vitality
Field-grown on our North facing hilltop with zero protection from full Texas sun, gale force winds, heavy rains, and foraging deer to ensure they are Texas tough.
Native Soil Adapted
Grown in proprietary native soil mixes with locally sourced ingredients to ensure our plants know how to thrive in your soil from day one.
Our Commitment to the Land
At Agarita Hills Ranch, we believe that a beautiful home should also be a thriving ecosystem that helps regenerate our local ecology. Standard nursery stock just isn’t built for our harsh weather, our challenging soil, or our foraging wildlife.
Our mission is to provide ecology supporting plants that are as architecturally stunning and culinary prized as they are biologically resilient and fit to aid in restoration and regeneration of our Texas Hill Country. By using regenerative permaculture practices and hyper-local, wild genetics, we aren't just growing plants; we are helping you build a legacy of land stewardship.
Who We Are
We are a very small, woman-owned grower specializing in Texas native and heirloom plants grown from foraged wild, hyper-local genetics in an extremely low-rainfall pocket on the southwest outskirts of Austin, TX. And our founder and owner, Jacqueline, is in fact our solo artisan cultivator.
All of our plants are artisan cultivated in small batches in our proprietary native soil mixes without protection on a North facing hilltop that receives all the harshest elements, including 60+mph gale force winds on our micro ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas.
